Journey from Ashburton

The sun was shining and it was a warm 19 degrees as we set off on our journey to Queenstown.  Had to believe it’s still winter. 

The scenery is just breathtaking, around each corner it just gets better and better. Photos just don’t do it justice when your surrounded by snow capped mountains and farmland filled with cattle or baby lambs.

Not our original plan for the start of your special day but due to fate we are gifted with this fabulous road trip down to Queenstown. 

More celebrations to come. 

Heading Down the East Coast

First Kaikoura....

Loads of seals sunning themselves on the rocks

Then down towards Christchurch with wonderful countryside. 

Mya had to give in and have some sleep at one point. 

Ended the long drive with a glorious sunset before arriving in Ashburton. 

Dinner at the Phat Duck before bed. All looking forward to sleep after a long day of travelling. 

Blenheim

A quick stop for lunch before heading down south. 

Fabulous Crossing

Even saw loads of dolphins, not easy to get a photo! 

Ferry

Bright and early start, ready to board the Interislander at 6.45 am. Looking forward to a calm crossing. 

Wellington

Checked in to our apartment by 4.30om. A full day of driving down the Notrth Island. 

Cambodian Restaurant for dinner.
