First Dinner

 It’s gone 9pm, it’s lovely and warm and we’re sat out on our patio eating dinner. So peaceful, looking out over the garden and to the pine forest beyond. 

Arrived at the Airbnb

After a good 4 hours of driving down to the Dordogne, we arrived at Hameau du Jardin Fleuri, our home for the next 8 nights. 

A beautiful haven deep in the countryside. How lucky are we?! ❤️

Beautiful Orleans, France

Such a lovely day wandering the streets of Orleans. A stunning city, relaxed, slow paced and beautiful. 

Visited the Cathedrale Sainte Croix.  Amazing building full of stained glass and breathtaking architecture. 

Enjoyed the old timber buildings in the streets. 

A delicious poke bowl lunch then ice-cream in the square next to the Statue of Jeanne d'Arc. 

Finished our visit with as boat trip down the Loire River.  

Bonjour from France

A very early start this morning, catching the 5.30 ferry from Newhaven. 

We then had a relaxed 4 hour drive through the beautiful French  countryside down to Orleans. We're staying at the Novotel Hotel for 2 nights. 

Pizza and pasta dinner tonight at a local restaurant. 

A good start to our 2 weeks away.

Summer Produce

 Tomatoes are ripening nicely and Runner Beans are just starting to produce.

Making the most of the weather to have a few BBQ's.  Beef and Cheese pinwheels tonight, very tasty.

What a fun night. We must be the dream team, somehow managing second place and a £60 win!
