21 Week Scan

I can't quite believe that I am over the half way point. In the photo I am 21 weeks and 1 day, not that I'm counting, but as you can see, baby is definitely now showing itself.

Today we have had our 21 week scan. This is mainly to check all the organs, bones etc are growing correctly and in the right places. All was looking great. We could so clearly see the little one twisting and turning around inside me that at times it was difficult for the radiologist to record the details she needed.

The other, extremely exciting news that we found out was that our little one is a girl. John and I are so delighted and couldn't resist stopping off at one of my favourite baby shops on the way home to purchase our first 'Pink' outfit, soooooooo cute!

Creative Babysitting

I was lucky enough to look after my dear friend's daughter (Abbie) this morning and with Easter coming up we decided to be a bit creative and decorate some eggs.

Before Pizza lunch we had some time playing with my old toys from when I was little. The stable was made by my dad and it's good to know that little ones can still get pleasure from it. The rocking horse was a gift for my first Christmas and is still going strong.

Dog Pen

This weekend, whilst the weather has still been good, John's been clearing and tidying up the dog pen. Once we cleared all the old bushes away we realised how rough the back fence was looking so John took down all the old punga fencing and re-wired and fixed it back up to hopefully stop the dogs from finding a way out.

The Nursery

Thanks to a very generous gift from Granny Rose and my Dad we have purchased our first furniture for the nursery.....A beautiful cot and matching changing table. We can now officially call it a nursery rather than upstairs lounge!

40th Birthday Celebrations

I have had the most amazing day thanks to my wonderful Husband and Mother.

We woke up to a perfect sunny day with not a cloud in the sky.

The day started with presents and cards at home before John took me off to the Marama Estate for yummy 'Pancake and Maple Syrup' breakfast by the River and Lake Rotorua.

Then John took me for a drive in the country and we ended up at Lake Okaro, just outside Rotorua where Mum had been busy setting up a BBQ picnic for me. It was a complete surprise, beautifully decorated with bunting and balloons, loads of food and drink and then all my New Zealand friends started to arrive, very overwhelming but what an amazing birthday present.

After a bit of a relax back at home, we dressed up and John took Mum and I out for dinner to Peppers on the Point, a very beautiful fine-dining restaurant in Rotorua.
It was an exquisit end to the day with delicious food and amazing surroundings.

Thank you so much, not only to family but also all my friends both in New Zealand and the rest of the world, for my wonderful cards, flowers, presents and birthday wishes. You've all been so wonderfully kind.

Today has been so very special for me, and with the upcoming arrival of baby in August, this year is truly going to be a memorable one.

Redwoods Walk

On a lovely sunny Autumn day Mum and I took the dogs for a beautiful walk in the Redwood Forest.

The dogs had great fun playing in the stream and along the paths.

We finished off with having a hot chocolate before heading home. A lovely afternoon.

Early Birthday Present

My wonderful Mum arranged an early birthday present for me to have an afternoon learning how to decorate cupcakes.

I had a great time and was pretty pleased with what I managed to accomplish. Now to sit down with a cuppa and do the taste test!
