Mya stayed home in the day as school was closed, she was a great help to me holding the ladder and passing me rolls of tape as I climbed up on the roof of the caravan in the storm and using duct tape and an empty compost bag I fashioned a cover to protect the hole. 
No end to my talents!
The vent was right above our mattress and it was soaked right through so with the radiator on full all day we managed to dry out all the water.
Apart from the caravan, everything else at home survived the bad weather.
Life was back to normal today.
