Arabesque Festival

After the show being cancelled due to the weather at the beginning of the summer, yesterday it managed to go ahead. 

Mya performed her section so well with the Saturday Stage School Cast. 

Autumn is on the Way.

With the first slightly chilly night last night and evenings drawing in, there are signs of Autumn.  This week I’ve picked my first bag of blackberries. The family were happy to have Apple and Blackberry crumble for pudding. 

Today I have started to clear the garden, the end of the carrots and outdoor tomatoes. Still more in the greenhouse!

Second week into school and thought I would take a screen shot of some of the points Mya has been awarded by her teachers. 

She is trying so hard and being so positive with this massive change in education. She’s growing up way too fast but so proud of the beautiful lady she us becoming, inside and out. 

And then this appeared on my phone this morning! 

Evening Swim

Down to Elmer tonight, just as the sea was reaching high tide. 

A perfect balmy summer evening and perfect for a swim. 

Wasn’t that chilly once you got in. 

Now sat in the garden with the puppy and a cuppa. Love weekends.

Award and Praise

Mya came home with an award yesterday (1st day!), meeting a keystone value of ‘Community’. 

In her first Art class today her teacher was really pleased with her pencil drawing of shells. 

Secondary School …… Here We Come!

And just like that the summer holidays have ended and Mya is off to Secondary School. So delighted she got into Six Villages Ormiston Academy.  We had a very stressful few months when they didn’t have a place for her.  I was preparing to home school at one stage! But all come right and she is very excited for her first day. 

Walked in with a new friend and one from primary school. 

Summer Project ( homework!) completed and also being taken in today ready for presentation day on Thursday. 

It’s all about her life journey from New Zealand to the UK.

Beach Day!

The last day of the holidays and with the weather 25 degrees Mya, Purdie and I headed to Elmer Beach, 5 minutes drive from home.
