54th Birthday!

I’ve had a lovely day. The sun was shining. Morning out with Mum in Chichester being spoilt, then curry dinner this evening where we ate far too much.

A New Lease of Life

I had some very sad looking trainers.  I'd tried to wash them to clean them up but didn't seem to work, so decided to dye them.

And now I love them!  And have had some lovely comments about them.  Recycling is the way to go.

Purdie loves a Sunny Spot

 Such a little sun worshipper.

Happy Mothers Day!

A lovely, but slightly chilly walk around West Dean Gardens today to celebrate Mothers' Day.

It's very special to be able to spend time with 3 generations.  We're very lucky.
Mum looking as beautiful as ever in stunning pink to match the spring flowers.

100% Optical Show at the Excell in London with Work

A day out with all the team.  So many laughs and lots of fun as well as trying on lots of frames.  So lucky to work with such a fabulous group of people.

Arrived in London with the sun shining.

Got a love a free tote bag!
Jackie and I managed to find the most expensive frames, retail at 2,500pds, but you do get a free handbag with them!

Yet more free bags, the bigger the better!

My haul of goodies to take home to Mya and John.  Enough pens to keep us going for a while!

Pasta Making Saturday

Homemade pasta for dinner, it was delicious.

School Trip to the Imperial War Museum

Mya had a fabulous day in London on Thursday with the school visiting the Imperial War Museum.

What’s This Shining Yellow Ball in the Sky?

After weeks of rain the sun decided to show its face today. So wonderful to be able to get the cushions out and sit down under the pergola, heaven.

Hair Cut

Managed to squeeze in a change of hair this morning. Can’t believe how much it’s grown. Pretty short now tho, but I love it.

Another Operation for John

Following his ankle fusion in mid 2024, John has suffered extreme pain in his foot. Very different from his arthritic pain but still debilitating.

His surgeon felt that the upper part of his ankle bone had not vascularised around the pin and so suggested one pin being removed and a larger one put in.

So today he went into St Richards for another day surgery.

After looking at the X-rays it appears that the surgeon removed the old smaller screws and added 3 larger ones.

He’s now got a big boot on and 6 weeks signed off work.  So hoping this will reduce his pain.

I love the way Mya passes the time by drawing and gets so much pleasure from it.

Career Interview at School

As part of Mya progressing towards her GCSEs and last 2 years of school, she had a career interview this week to introduce her to the world of working and representing herself.

Not surprisingly she conducted herself with maturity and professionalism.  So proud of her and who she is becoming.

First Lawn Cut of the New Year.

A breezy but sunny day and dry enough to cut the grass.  Makes me feel like Spring might be just around the corner.

Peek'a'boo! Purdie keeping an eye from her favourite place in the lounge!

National Theatre Audition

Mya has had a great day at Chichester festival Theatre. She was auditioning for ‘Ride or Die’ a production for the National Theatre. We’ll hear if she gets in over the next couple of days, but came away feeling really positive and made lots of new friends.

This is Mya with friend Oral.  Sadly Mya didn't get a part in the end, but has come away even more determined to get in next time.

Puzzle Time

Mya and I completed the puzzle this evening. 1000 pieces, only took us a couple of days.
