So lovely to plant them up with food to eat.

New Doors!
The front door was in need of an upgrade…
Such a lovely space when it came out. Almost tempted to just put a window in there!
So happy with the end result. Entrance now matches the inside.
The back door and frame were completely rotten.

Raised Vegetable Beds
Evening job for John.
Now to fill it. We’ve lined it with pool liner and then put wood and branches from bushes we’ve cleared in the bottom.
It’s good exercise carrying them from the car to the end of the garden!
First one filled and spare soil to start filling the second one once it’s built.
The first of 3 raised beds.

Then 2 car loads of compost.

A Feel of New Zealand
At the front of our driveway we have a Bottlebrush plant that is now flowering.
This is the closest plant to the native New Zealand Pohutukawa plant.
It makes me smile every time I come home. We were meant to have this home.

Clipper Cut
With the weather getting hotter, Purdie was in need of a hair cut.
She is now looking a lot tidier now and we can see her face.
She was looking very woolly….

Flowerbed Make Over
More clearing today. We didn’t like the evergreen shrubs in the flowerbed on the right of the garden so we’ve taken them out.
After….
Instead of the Clematis being wound around the bush and lost, we’ve put a trellis up for it to climb along and hopefully give it chance to flower.

Tomato Plants
After being very kindly gifted a load more tomato plants from my neighbour I thought I better get them sorted to grow on.
With Monty Dons suggestion of growing them up strings to support them I have created a trellis with some old wood.
Should be a bumper crop as long as the slugs don’t get them.
Climping to Middleton Beach Walk
Reached 12,000 steps this morning with an explore from Climping Beach.
Great place to walk.

He’s at it again ….
More chopping down in the garden. It’s sad but some of the shrubs have got so overgrown, dead at the bottom and too tall so we have had to chop it down. We are hoping it might shoot again from the base. If not we will plant a new one.
More garden waste to take to the dump.
It does look good when we have chance to tidy up.

Dogstival
The rain stayed away so we headed to Dogstival at Broadlands Romsey.
Dogs overload of every breed, colour and size. Purdie loved every minute, so many stalls and activities and loads of doggie treats.
She did really well on the agility course.
Even fun for Mya.

Walk Around Swanbourne Lake in Arundel
And then a bit of a row around the lake
Purdie liked watching the ducks!
Moved Fence
There was a strip of land at the bottom of the garden that had been maintained by the past owner and belonged to the property but had not been incorporated into the fenced garden. This bank holiday John moved the fence.
Dismantling….
