Sun All Day

Purdie and I started the day with a chilly but sunny walk along Felpham prom.

After work it was still gorgeous out so risked giving the lawn a cut. Starting to see buds and new growth appearing in the garden. Is Spring just around the corner?

My Daphne bush has doubled in size and the scent from it is amazing.

Re-purposed Table

Our pine dining table which we have had since my house in the 1990’s, and recently has resided in the garage as a workbench for John, was pulled out at the weekend.

John has chopped the legs down by half, sanded the top and re-waxed with beeswax, polished off and now it has pride of place as a large coffee table in the lounge.

Very happy with it.

It was a 2 Hat day today

My ‘Minibus driving’ hat as it was the first Magic Day of the year for a local primary school to visit Felpham College. I ferried groups of kids back and forth all day, 10 trips in all!

In between I had my second hat on as ‘Uniform Donation Sorter’.  I had to clear out the cupboard that was full of so much rubbish and broken furniture and make it a sole designated uniform cupboard.  So pleased with what I achieved.

Back home for roast dinner.

First day back after Christmas break. Mya was up, dress, and ready to go by 5.30!

She’s even curled her hair for her first day back!

Great Aunty Joan

Today, Mum, Mya and I took a trip down to Southampton to see Great Aunty Joan, Granny Rose’s sister.  She is now in a Care Home but doing well, as sharp as a tack and loved seeing us all, especially Mya. Granny use to show her endless pictures of Mya as she was growing up.  She’s now 99 years old, which she said was her goal in life.  I also found out today that at the age of 70 she got a tattoo of a butterfly on her shoulder.

On the way home we stopped off at M&S Hedge End for a coffee.
