Moulin Rouge

Birthday Treat for Mum.  We headed up to London and to Piccadilly.

Managed to grab a quick coffee before lunch at Fishworks in Swallow Street.

Yummy scallops followed by Prawn Linguine.

Then on to Piccadilly Theatre for Moulin Rouge.  Such a phenomenal show, staging outstanding and loved all the music and performance.  A different level of  show in the West End.

Happy 79th Birthday Mum!

Quick card opening before heading off to watch Mya with her driving  lesson on the way back we took Mum out for an amazing meal at The Black Horse in Amberley.

Mya’s Driving Lesson Number 3!

You can see that Mya could hardly contain her excitement on the way to the lesson!  Truth being that she has a cold at the moment and exhausted from her drama class that she did in the morning. A quick power nap!

Up to Ardingly Showgrounds this time. Learning more each time. Things are becoming more natural / muscle memory.

Goodwood Revival

Whilst I was away, Mya was taken to the Goodwood Revival with boyfriend Owen.  She'd sorted her outfit before I left.  She looked so stunning and despite the rain coming in at lunchtime, they had an amazing time.

Heading Home …. Via Brussels

Freya and I got up early to have another walk on the beach.  Not so sunny and loads of jellyfish had been washed onto the sand.

Packed up the apartment and stuffed everything into our cases.  Don't want to head home.  At least we were prolonging our departure by visiting Brussels on the way back.

Very grand buildings in Brussels, some covered in gold.

Had a delicious lunch sat out surrounded by these magnificent buildings in the main Plaza.  Moules Mariner and frites for me and of course a local beer!  A great way to finish off a fabulous weekend away.  Now need to plan the next one.

Last Night Meal Out in Blankengerge

Yummy Thai meal this evening as it’s our final night.  It was delicous.

Beach Walk to start the day then a Day in Ghent

Whilst Louise and Freya had a slower morning, I rose with the sun and went out on a beach walk, just below the apartment.  It was a stunning day.  An Ironman competition was happening which I watched for a bit, took a stroll along the pier and enjoyed the view.

Lily joined us for the day which was lovely to be able to spend time with her too.

Ghent is similar to Bruge but still with its own identity, beautiful buildings and river running through and so much history.  And of course loads of chocolate and waffle shops!

We caught a tram from the train station to get to the centre of Ghent, some how we managed to get on and return for free which was a bonus.

Off on a boat trip down the river Leie

This tiny building with the blue door, squeezed in between the others was the old tax office.
