Off To School (Term 1 Room Kauri)

Mya was a bit disappointed when she first arrived at school as for the first couple of week’s she is the only girl in her class.
By the end of the day she had all the boys wrapped around her little finger.

House Jobs

John has been pressure washing all the eves around the house this weekend then treating it with insecticide to stop the spiders and their webs.

I started to paint the lower concrete below the weatherboard of the house, to tidy it up and match the main cladding.

Camping - Day 6

Homeward bound, Exhausted and a yummy lunch in Thames.

Another afternoon of beaching with friends

Finishing off with reading a book in a tree....perfect.

Camping - Day 5

This morning we went on the DC Railway. This was the dream and creation to reality of one man, Barry Brickell. Started in 1973 and open to the public in 1990. Most of the track work was done by hand, with bridges, viaducts, 3 tunnels, 2 spiral & 5 reversing points to gain the elevation up to the Eyefull Tower, a gain of 100m elevation, truly an amazing feet.

 View from the Eyefull Tower.

Whitianga

After getting a bit sun burnt yesterday, today Mya got some zinc paint to help with the protection.

It was such a steaming hot day that we decided to book ourselves on a 2 hour glass bottom boat tour.

We got to see Cathedral Cove up close .....

And some amazing coastline....

We motored into a natural cave (15m high by 15m wide).....

And witnessed the rescue helicopter in action at one of the beaches......

The highlight for Mya was at the end of the trip where John and her went swimming in the sea, completely out of her depth, so brave, we were so proud of her.

A well deserved fish and chip dinner on the way home.
