1st School Visit
Mya starts Kahoroa School in October, but this term she gets to visit and meet her teacher and classmates.
Today was the first session and she loved it. Feeling right at home, asking Mrs Snodgrass lots of questions, playing with the others and joining in a craft activity 'The Fox with Socks' story. Almost as if she was already attending school! She was also one of the tallest in the class.
The highlight was being able to take the class mascot home for the week (Aroha the Kea) and then document what they get up to together.

Garden Weekend
After the rain we managed to get out this Sunday and do some jobs in the garden.
Mya is never too old for a ride in the wheelbarrow, John, on the other hand, may be tiring! 😂

10 Years Of Marriage
Has it really been 10 years?! We had a lovely lunch out as a family then Mya had a pony ride at the lake front.
We're looking forward to really celebrating next month when we have some time away in the snow.

Keeping Fit
John's new exercise routine in the evenings. Seeing how many press-ups he can do with a 22kg Mya lying on his back. He's up to 8 tonight, not bad for the second evening of it, he only did 3 last night!

Pathways Challenge
Yesterday the weather was raining but that didn't stop us joining in the fundraising event for Mya's kindy.
It was a 90 minute race around Rotorua CBD looking for check points from clues and a map. About 170 people turned out for it. We were Team Backhouse and our final score was 440 points, reaching 17 out of 30 check-points, which was pretty good going as we had to carry Mya some of the way as she ran out of steam.
A really fun afternoon in the rain.
