Rescue Hens
Today we added two new chickens to our flock. They were bought from a lady who rescues them from a battery farm, they have spent their lives sat in a cage laying eggs, they loose all their feathers and lead a miserable life. This lady nurses them back to health, teaches them how to be chickens again ready for rehoming. Mya has named them Daisy and Bluebell, hoping they will be happy with us as free range and happy hens.

The Orbserver - Helium Balloon Ride, Rotorua
The newest tourist attraction to Rotorua. John helped with it by creating and testing the winch system that controls the balloon. It's only just opened and we got a free ride up. It was a beautiful clear and sunny day and went up to 110m, amazing views over Rotorua and the lake. 
Mya and John loved it, the wind gusts got up to 22km per hour at the top that caused the balloon and gondola, that we were standing in, to dramatically sway from side to side as it is only tethered to the ground from one point. I, on the other hand, felt very unsteady and nervous.

Autumn Fun at the Tree Trust

Bird Scaring

Horse Riding
No matter how much I try and steer Mya away from it, when she gets a chance to ride a horse she just loves it. Yesterday we spent the day out at the Waimangu Valley at friend Jo's house, having fun with Abbie and Holly and pony Angel.
