Wonderful Winter's Day

Today was one of those fabulous Winter Days where I'm reminded why we're living in New Zealand.

In the morning Mya and I enjoyed the best view in Rotorua with lovely friends having coffee and scones.
In the afternoon we walked the dogs around our local Hamurana Spring.  We're very spoilt to have such beautiful surrounding on our doorstep.

New Sewing Challenge

Rather than stitching cushions and blinds, I've progressed on to having a go at making clothes and poor Mya is the guineapig, until she's old enough to complain.  My first attempt was a pair of trousers and embellishing a top to match.

Relaxing at Ohope Beach

Granny Alix, Mya, Myself and the 3 doggies have just had a blissful few days at Ohope Beach.  The weather was just amazing, reaching temperatures of 18 degrees.  Even though it was holiday season the beach was completely void of people, just amazing.
Poor John had to work.   This Sunday we made up for him not being able to join us with having a wonderful family day in Rotorua followed off by a very yummy home-cooked Roast Pork, which Mya loved.  So lovely to sit together at the table and enjoy a family meal, special times.

High Tea with the little monkeys

Mya is such a social bunny.  Today we had High Tea at the Distinction hotel.

We tried to get a photo of all the babes together, this photo was the best of many, none of them wanted to sit still for a picture.

Luckily we were the only ones in the restaurant, as the little ones ran riot once they'd finished their lunch.

Airport Fun

Today, Mums and Babes had a coffee date at Rotorua Airport.  The babes weren't that interested in the planes but loved the play area.

A first for Mya was going down a slide and crawling thru a tunnel.

6th Wedding Anniversary

Has it really been 6 years since that magical day in the New Forest? My darling husband spoilt me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and I cooked him a romantic meal, eaten by candle light.

We also had a treat of a meal this Sunday at Mills Reef Vineyard in Tauranga with our gorgeous girl.

I feel very blessed to have such a loving and supportive husband and adorable daughter. Here's to the next 6 years and beyond.....

Fireguard

With Mya now on the move, we've had to think about more baby proofing for the house.  One of the main areas was our fire and after looking around and because of the shape and size of our fire we would have to have a bespoke fire guard made that would cost us 1000's of dollars.

My clever husband decided to make us a fireguard at a minimal cost, even putting in some fancy twists in the metal and making it look really fantastic, and also perfectly Mya proof.

We are delighted with the end result, even managing to get it powder coated to match in with our furniture and decor.
