Hollies and Wine!

Last night we went to a wonderful concert at Mills Reef Winery. It was open air and we sat around in the evening sun with Mum, Dave, Kay and Richard enjoying a picnic and listening to Trio and then the Holllies, fantastic. Luckily the cyclone from the night before had passed, no need for umbrellas!

Kayaking down the Kaituna!

One of John's Christmas presents from me was a tandem kayak down the local Kaituna River (complete with a 7m drop over a waterfall), rather him than me.

He's now threatening to take it up as a hobbie and wants to do it solo. I'd rather keep my husband in one piece. x

Blocked Driveway

We woke up this morning to the driveway being blocked by our walnut tree. With all the rain over the winter months our tree seems to have a bumper crop of walnuts this year, so many infact that it's weighing down the branches and causing them to break. John had to get out his chainsaw (any excuse!) to clear the way so we could get the cars out.

Sheep Sheering

As the weather has been so hot, the poor ewe and lambs have been sweltering in the heat and in need of a hair cut, so this morning the sheerer has been up and given them a trim.

A Chance to Relax

Just to let you all know that John does occasionally get a chance to relax and unwind.

After getting the boat serviced, we were able to get on the water in the last day of John's holiday, before back to work.

Beautiful warm weather and calm waters. Unfortunately no luck with the fishing...this time!

Leak Fixing

Yesterday, John was working hard stripping off parts of the facia boards of the house to try and ascertain where the leak in our upstairs bathroom has come from. He's found the problem and is now repairing the damage made. Hot work up on the roof in the boiling sun. He's certainly a man-that-can! x
